Explore Pera Museum’s collections on Google Arts & Culture!

Google Cultural Institute is a collaboration between Google and more than a 1000 acclaimed art partners from across 70 countries. Pera Museum is proud to be part of the second phase of the Project.

With a few simple clicks of their fingers, art lovers will be able to discover not just the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Pera Museum’s Collection of Orientalist Paintings, but also its other collections, including Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics, Anatolian Weights and Measures and Photography Collection. Users can explore a wide range of artworks at brushstroke level detail, and even build their own collections to share.

In his 2016 TED talk, Head of Google Arts & Culture, Amit Sood says “The world is filled with incredible objects and rich cultural heritage. And when we get access to them, we are blown away, we fall in love. But most of the time, the world's population is living without real access to arts and culture.” Cultural Institute brings a rather fun solution to this problem. An enhanced “Collections” feature allows users to select any of the hundred thousands of artworks -along with their favorite details - and build their own personalized collection. Comments can be added to each painting and the whole collection can then be shared with friends and family.

Users can find online exhibits by artists, mediums, art movements, historical events, historical figures or places, displaying works from different museums around the world. Nelson Mattos, VP Engineering of Google between 2007 and 2014 comments “Google is committed to bringing all types of culture online and making it accessible. The Art Project demonstrates how the Internet helps spread knowledge.”

Other partners of the Project include: Tate, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Gallery, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The White House, Uffizi Gallery, Rijksmuseum, Palace of Versailles, the Frick Collection, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Van Gogh Museum , Reina Sofia, and Musée d’Orsay.

En çok çocukları öldürmekten haz duyuyorum. Etleri kesilip göğüs kafesleri kırılırken hep aynı şekilde bağırıyorlar: “ANNE!BABA! ANNEEEE! BABAAAA!”
